On his first day in office, as part of the new administration's pandemic response, President Biden urged all Americans to "mask up for my first 100 days."
100 Days/100 Masks responded by featuring 100 Americans from around the U.S. answering the question, "Why do you wear a mask?"
"Unmasking Broadway" rounds out the final days of this action. On March 12, 2020, Covid-19 safety restrictions forced New York theaters to close, shuttering an entire industry overnight and leaving over 90,000 unemployed. To honor those whose work brings joy to millions who visit New York, we feature videos shot by Broadway stars, composers, dancers, musicians and other theater workers who discuss staying safe, the personal impact of the Broadway shutdown and what they miss about live performance.
